About the club

St Ives Judo club established for over forty years has its own permanent Dojo available at all times for members to practice.

It caters for all ages and prides itself on its dedication to the principals of  B J C judo  and the local community, by  providing a  place for  people to meet and practice Judo

Fees are moderate but the quality of instruction is high, club coaches include John Couch 6th Dan area technical officer , Heather Farr  4th dan  an International player and former British ladies team captain, Rob Piper 2nd Dan and Corrina Trathan 1st Dan.

 

The club organizes the famous Easter course and people come from all over the U K and abroad to take part, we are a member of the strong Cornwall area, and take part enthusiastically in area events.

 

We encourage clubs from up country to visit us for summer holidays. Providing you are prepared to rough it a little, ie sleeping bags in the Dojo, you can take advantage of good Judo, surfing on Porthmeor beach, which is literally only 200 yards away, and all that one of Britains top holiday resorts can offer.

 

We also offer Aikido,  instructor  Paul Healy 3rd dan takes the class, and practice is available with Paul at various times.

We can provide kata training, grading training, contest training,  teach technique and give personal training.
